Riu Palace Hotel

This all-inclusive hotel gets my 8 out of 10 rating. The location is excellent, the property is luxurious, accessible, comfortable and modern. The price seemed reasonable and we paid for nothing except for the sunscreen that we forgot.
The restaurant service is great, room service responsive and there's plenty of activities to keep you busy, and no pressure to do any of them.
It seems as if they are always cleaning the floors wherever you go, so be careful about slippery tile floors, even in the elevators!
The beach is immaculate, the water and air temperature warm, and the view is spectacular.
In town, I had a feeling of security because there were cops everywhere. Although the "old" part of downtown is antiquated, there are many shops to search for bargain souvenirs. At the very modern and up-scale marina, there are plenty of restaurants, bars, clubs, and shops. Fishing boats are plentiful and scenery is fabulous.
My only disappointment was that the food at the hotel was not what we expected. It was not always fresh (held over from the previous meal, old fruit, etc.), but it was plentiful, served well and the settings were clean. I give the food a 5 out of 10.
