This is a photo of The Arch or El Arco at the tip of the Baja Peninsula. It is the meeting place of the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortez and is perhaps one of the most photographed landmarks in Cabo San Lucas. It is also close to Lover's Beach and Divorce Beach which is just around the tip on the other side.
This is just a goofy picture of vacation to Cabo. My kids put their sunglasses on the concrete monkey which we found at an art and furniture store across the street from the famous restaurant, bar and nightclub, Cabo Wabo.
Here is photo of my son, Dakotah, posing with Katrina, the female half of the couple who represent the Day of the Dead. Also, known as El Dia del Muerte, this Mexican holiday falls on what we know as Halloween and celebrates life with food and drink and by honoring those who have passed. You will see many Day of the Dead collectibles around Cabo San Lucas, but this was the first time we'd encountered one that was life-size.
Pictures of vacation to Cabo: I'll never forget the night we ate dinner on the beach under the stars and watched the spectacular performance of these Mexican folk dancers. Since pictures can't compare to a live performance, I made a short movie for you which you can view by clicking on cabo web cams. It was a little dark and I didn't have a tripod, but you'll enjoy it anyway.
Pictures of vacation to Cabo: One night, while eating authentic food at Mi Casa, which used to be our favorite restaurant before they expanded and kind of lost their way, we watched this mexican woman make tortillas by hand. If you've never had a freshly made tortilla, you're in for a delicious treat.
These mariachis accompanied the Mexican folk dancers shown above and played during breaks when the dancers were changing their costumes. Although we've made note of this correction before, it's worth repeating: since "mariachi" means "band", it is incorrect to say mariachi band. Simply say, "Mariachi."
The marina in Cabo San Lucas is something to behold. Some of the yachts are valued at millions of dollars. Here, my youngest son Colt, looks out at all the wealth docked in the marina after we returned from sport fishing one day.We hope you've enjoyed our pictures of vacation to Cabo.
