Lovers Beach: A Romantic Way to Spend the Day in Cabo San Lucas

Lovers Beach Cabo San Lucas

You may be surprised to know that the only way to get to Lovers Beach in Cabo San Lucas is by water taxi. Of course, this only adds to the romantic allure of the trip. Imagine spending the day sunning on a white sand beach, while your loved one pampers you by rubbing suntan lotion on your back and legs. No doubt you will both enjoy the sights and sounds of the beautiful Sea of Cortez on this delightful little beach which is tucked along the Baja Tip at Land's End. Lovers Beach Another thing you may not know about this beach is that it may be the only one in the world that is sandwiched between two oceans. Here you can see the Sea of Cortez and the Pacific Ocean on the other side. (It looks the sky, I know, but it's actually the ocean.)

If you have a more active day in mind than sunning on the beach, bring your camera and take photographs: the craggy Baja Tip is quite stunning as is the bird life and the expanse of turquoise ocean that is spread before you like an endless sky.

If you like to snorkel, Lovers Beach is a great snorkeling spot. You'll see brightly colored fish and might even be lucky enough to spot a sea lion, dolphin or ray. If you have an underwater camera, you'll have lots of fun exploring the incredible world just beneath the ocean's surface.

Lovers Beach Cabo San Lucas Another thing to do is trek through the sand across the beach to the other side, appropriately called Divorce Beach, where the turbulent waters of the Pacific Ocean crash upon the shore, making for a lovely view, but definitely not safe for swimming.

Last time I was there, there were no vendors on Lovers Beach, so make sure to bring plenty of food and water. Although the name implies that this beach is reserved for adults, this is definitely not the case. If you think it's a place to freely make out with your companion, you'll probably get the evil eye from plenty of parents.

Travel Tip: Learn spanish before you go on your trip. It will be fun and increase your perspective.

After a day spent on the beach, you'll be ready for the water taxi that arrives at 4:00 pm to take you back to the marina and a much anticipated shower and siesta at your hotel.
