... may be the right spot to fulfill your perfect-vacation fantasies. When we stayed there, a delightful time was had by all: from the oldest to the youngest in my family. If you enjoy sunning on a secluded beach, sipping a margarita while the surf splashes on the shore and dwelling in a beautiful natural setting that is just a short jog to Land's End and conveniently located to all that's happening in downtown Cabo, then this may be what you're looking for.

Finisterra Hotel Property

This property artfully combines the old with the new. Red tile floors are a signature of this resort with its suites and rooms that boast a view of the ocean or the marina. Boasting 7 acres of private beach, The Finisterra also has a tempting pool, complete with palm trees, chaise chairs and a swim-up bar. Additionally, there is the Whale Watcher Bar and the Blue Marlin restaurant which has received rave reviews from international critics. There is a gym so you can stay in shape and a boutique for purchasing unique, local items for yourself or friends back home.

The Finisterra is situated on a hill which overlooks the city. About 35 minutes away from the airport, it is located close to shopping, restaurants and the new mall which also has a gaming facility and bowling alley for kids. Despite it's accessibility to the city, it is tucked within a tropical landscape which offers up all the privacy you need. When I stayed there with my family, I was surprised how well the hotel manages to accommodate young couples in love and families with children. Since the average temperature is 78 degrees year round, with an average of 300 days of sunshine per year, good weather is pretty much a guarantee.

Rooms at the Hotel Finisterra Cabo San Lucas

The resort has been divided into two sections. There are 283 rooms with an ocean, marina or garden view. The traditional Finisterra section is found in low rise buildings built into cliff rock. Be aware there are no elevators in this section, so if you're traveling with someone who is handicapped, the newer section is advised. Rooms include double beds, stocked mini bars and a bathroom with a shower. Most of these rooms do offer patios. But don’t think you have to go with the older hotel feel - although it is fun to step back in time for a vacation, the Hotel Finisterra offers more modern accommodations as well. The Il Porto with a Marina View offers a choice of two queen beds or one king, a stocked mini bar and a private balcony. The Palapa Beach Club offers all of this plus a marble bathroom and a sitting area, with an ocean view (pictured above). Definitely a great choice for your stay.

You may also decide to go with the more exclusive suites. Please check for availability, but the premium Whale Watcher two bedroom suite includes two Jacuzzi tubs, a steam room and private veranda.
