Family Beach Vacation - Traveling with Kids

How do I know? I've been traveling to Cabo San Lucas Mexico yearly for the past twenty years. Although during eight of those years, it was just my husband and I, for the past twelve years, we've taken our kids along, starting when my eldest son was just 2 months old, so I know all about traveling with babies and small children.




We take our family beach vacation to Mexico in November. It's a nice
respite from school, responsibilities and a rest
before the holiday rush begins.




Traveling to Mexico offers a great beach vacation for kids. Here are my
children with their friends, who also travel to Mexico at the same time
every year. My boys have known their friends since they were two
years old. Every year, they meet up and everyone is a little
bit bigger and a little more mature.

I'll also share my travel with kid tips which reveal how I have kept my kids entertained during the many hours we've logged in airports, on airplanes or traveling by car. In addition, I'll give you some helpful hints about how to negotiate with teachers so your children will have less school work to make-up and in some instances, none at all!

Speaking of that—one great tip to minimize or eliminate school make-up work is to create a travel site (believe me, it's fun and easy) while you're on your trip that your child's teacher and peers can view while you're gone. This is a great assignment that will teach your child about the area, people and the culture. Your child's teacher will love it because it will also be valuable for other students and can even be used in class assignments.

In addition, keeping an online trip journal is a great way to keep in touch with your extended family while you're gone and chronicle your experiences, share photos, exchange messages, etc. I can't say enough about this. The accomodations are beautiful, hotels and resorts offer current technology, the food is delicious, the water clean and the hospital or in-house doctor care (we've experienced both) is top-notch. Although I can't guarantee that your trip will go without a hitch, a Mexico family vacation could open your eyes to a brand new world, kind of like finding a kindred spirit in a neighbor who has lived around the corner all your life.
