Cabo Wabo - A Happening Cabo San Lucas Cantina, Restaurant & Tequila Bar

Cabo Wabo, Sammy Hagar's cantina, restaurant and tequila bar is one nightclub you won't want to miss. I still remember the year it opened and my husband and I had so much fun, we stayed into the wee hours of the night. The atmosphere was rocking, the people were gracious and the food and drinks were excellent.

Featuring a stage where live bands perform (if you're lucky, you'll get to see Sammy), a tequila bar�featuring Hagar's own brand�Cabo Wabo tequila and now, his newest and finest tequila�Cabo Uno Tequila, scrumptious dishes cooked by a celebrated chef and a gift shop where you can purchase tee-shirts, tequila and other gifts.

According to Hagar, the idea for the cantina was born when he visited the fishing village back in the early 1980's. Of course, back then, Los Cabos was not the town it is today, so while the club enjoyed early success, later things went flat. When investment money began pouring into the area, the airport was expanded and renovated and big hotels started popping up everywhere, the cantina began enjoying the success of its earlier days. Of course it helped that Hagar moved the restaurant upstairs and hired a top-notch chef.

On Hagar's web site, he says that the cantina got it's name when he spotted a local partyer wobbling and staggering home after pulling an all-nighter. Apparently, Sammy exclaimed, "He's doing the cabo wabo!"

As vacationers who frequent his cantina, we're thankful that Sammy had this inspiration.

No trip to Land's End is complete without a visit to the Cabo Wabo cantina and the Caboutique (where you can purchase Hagar's famous tequila, tee-shirts and souvenirs). If you're not into the partying scene, then take your family there for lunch or dinner. The restaurant is open daily from 11 am until 11 pm. The club is open from 7:30 until 2 am. Make sure to stop by the gift shop which is open from 9 am until midnight and buy a tee-shirt or some world-famous tequila for those back at home.
