Cabo San Lucus: A Fun and Relaxing Vacation Spot
Cabo San Lucus is situated at the tip of the Baja Peninsula where the Pacific Ocean meets the turquoise waters of the Sea of Cortez. Once a little fishing village, frequented by celebrities who could afford to fly in on private jets, Cabo is now a prime tourist destination.
The Los Cabos area is divided into three parts: San Jose del Cabo, the Corridor and Cabo itself. San Jose is a quaint little town lined with cobblestone-paved streets and historic buildings. If a quiet vacation is what you're looking for, then this is the spot for you.
The Corridor extends between the outskirts of San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucus. It offers beautiful hotel resorts and long beaches of white sand. Many golf courses dot this area. If you want to just stay put and relax or get in a golf game every day, then then this is a good choice for you.
The city of Cabo San Lucus is located at the tip of the Baja Peninsula on the Sea of Cortez. Hotels and resorts line Medano beach which offers stunning views of "El Arco" or "The Arch" at Land's End. Here you will find all the shopping (including Puerto Paraiso—the new indoor mall), restaurants, bars, cantinas and nightclubs you want.
Known first for its sports fishing, anglers come from all over the world to try their hand at catching a marlin or the many other types of fish that abound in this rich marine habitat where two oceans merge.
Although some people hold negative views of Mexico, this is a safe place to vacation. I have traveled to Cabo San Lucus for over twenty years and have always felt secure. I've traveled their pregnant and when my baby has been only two months old. Cabo has a hospital, emergency medical center and most hotel/resorts have doctors on call. The area has many businesses that are familiar to Americans, such as Baskin Robbins, Costco and Home Depot. The area has been designed to cater to Americans who visit often or make Cabo their full or part time home.
