Cabo San Lucas Vacations - Planning Your Cabo San Lucas Vacation
Cabo San Lucas vacations - as longtime vacationers to Cabo, it is our goal to help make your trip as fun and relaxing as possible. Since our family has vacationed in Los Cabos for decades, we love to share our knowledge of the area with first time travelers. Although this beautiful region was once accessible only to the rich and famous (who could afford to fly in by private jet), we think this stunning landscape at Land's End should be enjoyed by all. As such, this page has links to hotel and restaurant reviews, activities, points of interest and our favorite (and time-tested) online resources for purchasing airline tickets or reserving hotel rooms and rental cars at the best possible prices.
If you're undecided about taking a Cabo San Lucas vacation, watch the short video below which highlights the beauty of the area. (This is a great video because it shows you Cabo from many angles: from a bird's eye view to the stunning underwater world that lays beneath the craggy Baja Tip.
Cabo San Lucas is gorgeous, isn't it?

The first step in planning Cabo San Lucas vacations is to decide when you're going to go and where you're going to stay. Make your flight reservations early because seats to Los Cabos fill up fast. Typically, we make our reservations six months ahead of time. For the past few years, we've been using Priceline because they allow you to comparison shop for airline tickets which are becoming increasingly expensive. Next, you'll need a Cabo San Lucas hotel. Click on the link to read our reviews of the hotels in the surrounding area. Be aware that you can stay in Cabo itself, along The Corridor (the strip of land that stretches between Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo (where the airport is located) or in the charming Old World San Jose del Cabo.
If you already know the name of the hotel where you'd like to spend your Cabo San Lucas vacation, use the box below to the right to make your reservation. If not, read our reviews of Cabo San Lucas hotels.
Once you have your flight and hotel booked, consider booking a rental car. Although you can get anywhere in Cabo by taxi, the taxis are getting more and more expensive. Usually, we rent a car for the last three days of our Cabo San Lucas vacation. That way, we can go look at real estate or take day trips to places like Todos Santos, La Paz or San Jose del Cabo.
When going on a Cabo San Lucas vacation, I like to book the most important aspects of our trip ahead of time. This way, I avoid any misunderstandings due to the language barrier and I deal with American companies, so I know exactly what I'm getting and whom to call if something goes wrong or if I didn't get what I paid for. This is a strategy that has worked well for me during the twenty-some years my family and I have been vacationing in Los Cabos.
Now that you have your reservations set, research activities that will be fun for the family. I like to pick one activity for each family member that we can do together. This means that not only will each person be satisfied, but he or she will get to share their interests with the group and expose each other to experiences that we might not pursue individually.
Cabo has so many activities from swimming with the dolphins in Cabo San Lucas to motorcycle riding, outback tours, golfing, scuba diving and much more. One great tip for stressed out adults: before you return home, treat yourself to a Cabo San Lucas massage. Click on the link to read about my favorite masseuse in Cabo (make an appointment with him before you leave on your trip because his appointment book fills up fast.) Doing this one special thing for yourself and your spouse or partner will ensure you return home relaxed and refreshed.
