Cabo San Lucas Restaurant Guide: Restaurant in Cabo San Lucas Mexico
Below is our Cabo San Lucas Restaurant Guide which will give you a glimpse of the many types of cuisine there are in Los Cabos. The places listed are places that I have reviewed personally and eaten at with my family during the twenty years that we have been vacationing in Los Cabos.
NEW! Post your own reviews of favorite and not-so favorite Cabo San Lucas restaurants. You can add a photo too. Or read and rate reviews written by other visitors. Where possible, I will note my favorites—the places we return to again and again. Although we have dined at some places only once or twice, if we had a good meal, excellent service and a favorable experience, I will list them as well. This is by no means an exhaustive guide.
Cabo San Lucas Restaurant Guide:
Da Giorgio's - Located on the premises of Missionies, this is a decent Italian restaurant. Maybe I'm not the best judge because I never crave Italian food, but every time we've eaten here, the food has seemed rather bland. Even though the cuisine is not my favorite, I visit Da Giorgio's every trip for its stunning views of the Baja coast. It is particularly spectacular at sunset. Even if you just patronize the restaurant for drinks and dessert, its ambience is not to be missed. It's a pricey restaurant and the taxi fare to get there is expensive, but it's well worth the price. Be sure to bring your camera.
Left: Da Georgio is beautiful at sunset with a lovely view of El Arco. See that big smile on my husband's face? This is what he looks like after enjoying a tequila, some appetizers and the extraordinary sunset from Da Georgio's Restaurant.
Enrique's - Although this place is known for its steaks, my family and I did not like it and haven't been back since. We are discerning steak eaters and in our estimation this restaurant did not live up to par. Could have just been a bad night, but we weren't willing to give it another try. Casual atmosphere with a swing set in back that the kids can play on after they've finished their meal so parents can have a few moments together. Located on Medano Beach.
Giggling Marlin Bar & Restaurant - a casual place to go for drinks and dinner. The food is good and the drinks are better. Have fun watching inebriated people hung upside down by their feet (as if they had been caught by a marlin, hence the name), while their friends snap photos for blackmail later.

La Golondrina - located just down the street from the hotel resorts that dot Medano Beach, La Golondrina wins a big vote for atmosphere and delicious meals. Owned by the people who run the famous Trailer Park Restaurant, this is another fabulous success in their line of restaurants.
Mama's Royal Cafe - if love breakfast (Lord knows my husband craves breakfast at every meal), this is the place for you. Reliably yummy breakfasts.
Margaritaville - located in downtown Cabo, this is an excellent place to go for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The margaritas are delectable and the food is standard mexican fare. Reliably good. Since it's located on the main drag, it's a great place to people-watch.
The ambience at Mi Casa is festive. The restaurant is located in a garden setting and has a boutique where you can purchase some interesting souvenirs.
At Mi Casa, the tortillas are handmade.
Mi Casa - This is my all time favorite Cabo San Lucas restaurant. Situated in the downtown area, guests dine in a courtyard, decorated with murals, the Virgen de Guadelupe and open to the stars. If you are lucky, you will get to watch the woman who makes handmade tortillas. This is authentic Mexican cuisine. If you are used to Taco Bell and to the Mi Casa chain in the U.S., you are in for quite a treat.
On our last trip to Los Cabos, my boys spotted Jason Giambi dining a few tables away. As die-hard Yankees fans, we had a hat with us. My son Dakotah took it over to Giambi and asked for his autograph. The ever gracious Giambi complied.
A few days after we had returned home, the dog took it off my son's desk and ripped it into shreds, so all we have left is this photograph. Tragedies aside, this is one of the best, most authentic Mexican restaurants, although their recent expansion has made the restaurant noisier and less intimate than it was before.

Tortilla soup at Mi Casa is an all-time favorite. It's not quite as good as mine though. Maybe one day, I'll share the recipe.
Nick-San - this is my favorite sushi bar in Cabo San Lucas. The sushi is fresh, the barbecued dishes exquisite and the ambience is casual elegance. Located in downtown Cabo near the Kentucky Fried Chicken, this is one fine dining experience that is not to be missed.
Update! On our most recent trip to Cabo San Lucas, we arrived with great anticipation at Nick San and were sorely disappointed and we know Nick and Angel, the owners of the restaurant. Like a lot of restaurants in Cabo, Nick-San has expanded, much to their detriment. The restaurant used to be small and intimate, now it is crowded and raucous. Even the delectable food couldn't make up for the decline in ambience.
Cabo San Lucas Restaurant Guide
Peacocks - located near Medano Beach. After hearing a few people rave about this Cabo San Lucas restaurant, we tried it for ourselves. The open air ambience enclosed by adobe walls was nice, but other than that, we weren't impressed with the food. Perhaps the chef had the night off.
Pancho's Restaurant & Tequila Bar - a great spot located in downtown Cabo. If you're hungry for food and drink, Pancho's has a bar that features over 500 quality tequilas. There is a mesquite grill for chicken and beef and the food is traditional mexican. This is a great place to have a big family dinner. One year when my eldest son was two, we went to Pancho's and Mary, the owner, had her dog on the premises. I don't know why because it was a nasty little dog. My son, who has always been gentle with animals, was trying to pet it and it jumped up and bit him near the eye. Needless to say, the next time we visited Pancho's, that mean little dog was not around or we would have gone elsewhere.
Stories aside, the food and service at Pancho's is excellent and you'll leave satisfied. They even have a little store stocked with novelties on the premises.

Taco Loco - this little Cabo San Lucas restaurant is one of my favorite places to go for lunch. In fact, I'm a bit hesitant to share this with the world because it's such a cozy place and I'm afraid I'll find my favorite lunch spot so overcrowded, my family won't be able to get a table anymore.
Located across the street from the Giggling Marlin in downtown Cabo, the prices are reasonable and the food is consistently good. The tacos and chile rellenos are excellent and there is a taco bar (shown at right) with delicious condiments and picante salsas to spice up your food just the way you like it. We try to make this a stop a couple times per trip.
The Shrimp House - our friends (who have also been vacationing in Cabo for over twenty years) swear by this Cabo San Lucas restaurant and visit it every year. Known throughout Los Cabos for the freshest shrimp around, this place prepares shrimp every way imaginable. It's shrimp and more shrimp. Since it's located on the main street that cuts through downtown, it's a great place to have a few drinks, load up on shrimp and watch the passersby.
Trailer Park Restaurant - open outdoor dining with varied cuisine and delicious American-style food. The oysters are to die for. Fresh catch is brought in daily and the steaks are prepared the way you like them. Although we used to go to this Cabo San Lucas restaurant on every trip, we haven't been in the past three years. The reason why: it's pretty darn expensive. In years past, they've only accepted cash. They may have changed their policy by now, but come prepared to spend your dollars. Meals are pricey, but worth it. Owned and operated by the same family that operates La Golondrina, this is the original Trailer Park Restaurant that has been in business since 1979. Although the name sounds cheesy, it is a great place to dine.
