Cabo San Lucas Lover Beach - A Beautiful Place to Spend the Day

Cabo San Lucas Lover Beach is a beautiful white sand area tucked away at Land's End, near The Arch (El Arco) or gateway between the Sea of Cortez and the Pacific Ocean. If you thought some Cabo San Lucas beaches were hard to get to, this one takes the cake. You cannot get there by car or foot—you must take a water taxi or rent a jet ski or kayak. Okay, for the nimble, sure-footed daredevils—you can climb over the rocks by the Hotel Playa Solmar to the other side, but this is not a good idea because if you get hurt, there are no medical services.

Take a water taxi to Cabo San Lucas Lover Beach If you take a water taxi to Cabo San Lucas Lover Beach, the taxi will get as close as possible to the shore and drop you off. Understand that this means you must get wet to make it to the beach. Some tourists prefer to be dropped off further and swim a little distance to shore, where they are instantly rewarded by the sight of a beautiful white sand beach, surrounded by water on both sides and intriguing rock formations.

On the boat to Cabo San Lucas Lover Beach Before spending the day at Lover's Beach, here are some tips:
  • When you purchase your water taxi ticket, make sure to arrange your pickup time from Lover's Beach. You don't want to be stranded there. Water taxis stop their pickups around 5 pm, so be sure to arrange your pickup before then.
  • Make sure to bring everything you'll need for a day in the sun. There are no services on Lover's Beach. Bring sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, a coverup, towel, plenty of liquids to keep you hydrated, some lunch and snacks for later.
  • The visibility and calm waters of Lover's Beach make it perfect for snorkeling or swimming.
  • If you venture over to the Pacific side, be forewarned—the strong current can be unsettling and hazardous.
El Arco near Cabo Lover Beach Divorce Beach - located a short distance from Lover's Beach. A beautiful stretch of white sand beach belies the treacherous waves of the Pacific Ocean. A fun place to relax in the sand, but the water is not for swimming.

Divorce Beach is located on the other side of Cabo Lover Beach. The local joke of course, is that divorce is the other side of love and marriage. While the waters of the Sea of Cortez are clear and serene, like love, the Pacific Ocean waters that break on Divorce Beach are rough and dangerous.

Since you can walk to Divorce Beach from Cabo San Lucas Lover Beach, you do not need to get in the water. Since the Pacific Ocean has a strong undertow, crashing waves and fierce currents, we recommend that you avoid swimming in it. Bring a book to read and relax in the sand amidst the roar of the ocean.
