Cabo San Lucas Description - A Short Description of Cabo

Cabo San Lucas Description ...

The area known as Los Cabos is located at the tip of the Baja Peninsula. This long finger of land is surrounded by oceans on three sides—bordering the east cape are the warm, turquoise waters of the Sea of Cortez which is prolific with marine life and one the west side are the rough, often turbulent waves of the Pacific Ocean. These two bodies of water meet at the Baja Tip through a natural opening known as "El Arco" or the Arch. Cabo San Lucas description The terrain of the Los Cabos area (which includes Cabo and San Jose del Cabo) is unique in that it is a combination of rainforest and desert. There are few places in the world where you can see beaches dotted with saguaro cactus. The rugged Sierra de las Lagunas mountains capture rainfall and supply the area with fresh water for drinking and keep the many championship golf courses green.

World renown as a top tourist destination, Los Cabos has so many activities that serve so many interests that my family and I have vacationed there for the past twenty years and still haven't run out of things to do. There is golfing, sport fishing, swimming with the dolphins, outback excursions, zip lines, all kinds of water sports, a pirate ship for the kids, a dinner cruise for you and hubby and the list goes on.

Above: On our last trip to Cabo, we got the chance to hold a spotted leopard. Talk about a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

The weather in Cabo is warm and lovely almost all year around, except for the summer months which can be dreadfully hot, humid and dusty. Generally, I would avoid vacationing in Los Cabos during the months of July and August. Otherwise, the weather is generally nice. The heaviness in the air from the moisture is nice (especially if you live in a dry climate like I do) and just the tropical feel will help you to relax.

I hope you've enjoyed our brief Cabo San Lucas description and that you'll follow the links or use the navigation bar to find out more about our favorite vacation spot that will probably become one of your favorites too.
