Cabo San Lucas Beaches Guide

For Lovers:

Lover's Beach at Land's End (near the tip of the Baja Peninsula where the Pacific Ocean meets the Sea of Cortez) can only be reached by water taxi. The taxi can only take you so far into the cove—grab your lover's hand, dive off the boat and swim to shore. Here you will luxuriate on a romantic, white sand beach surrounded by rock formations and dotted with caves you can explore. The striking beauty is sure to bring out the adventurer in you. Since you can access Lover's Beach from almost any hotel in Cabo (just take a taxi and then a water taxi), you can stay anywhere you like, but our favorites in the downtown Cabo area are Los Milagros , Hotel Cabo San Lucas , and Pueblo Bonito Rose

For Scuba Diving and Snorkeling:

Cabo San Lucas beaches border a rich marine habitat (where two oceans meet). Just beyond the Cabo San Lucas harbor are underwater pinnacles which stand some twenty feet above the surface of the water. This incredible marine sanctuary borders Land's End and Palmilla Beach. To take full advantage of what is offered by this area, we recommend you stay at the One & Only Palmilla

Of great interest to divers is Cabo Pulmo which has one of the largest coral reefs in the Western hemisphere and is located about an hour north of San Jose del Cabo. If you didn't bring your gear, you can rent it here and even get your certification. Be sure to check into a hotel like the Hotel Palmas de Cortez for a couple of days, so you'll have enough time to fully explore this fantastic reef. If you're an underwater photographer, be sure to bring your camera.

For Naturalists (Whale watchers, nature-lovers and kayakers):

Since Los Cabos is the place where two oceans meet, it has a marine habitat that is teeming with life. Here amidst the backdrop of pristine Cabo San Lucas beaches, you can kayak through crystal waters full of dolphins, exotic fish, seals and whales. For an experience not to be missed, check out Playa Santa Maria (stay at the Pueblo Bonito Montecristo

If you're a serious kayaker, spend a couple days in La Paz. Arrange for a tour to Espiritu Santo Island (in the Sea of Cortez). The island will bring out the archaeologist in you—you'll get to explore native plants and animals and the remains of indigenous civilizations. For Horseback Riders:

Cabo San Lucas beaches are great for horseback riding. This is permissable along the waterfront along The Corridor (between Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo). Cuadra San Francisco is a company that offers horseback beach tours on horse (and mountain tours as well.) For an especially beautiful and romantic ride, book your reservations at sunset. Some great places to stay along The Corridor are Calinda Cabo San Lucas and Casa Del Mar Beach Golf Spa Resort

For Surfers:

Near Playa Palmilla, surfers can catch the ultimate wave. The Cabo San Lucas beaches that are perfect for surfing are Acapulquito, Playa Costa Azul and Zippers.
