Cabo San Lucas Activity - Fun Things to Do for Adults and Kids
Cabo San Lucas Activity - there is plenty to do in Cabo, whether you're a grown-up, teenager or kid. As a family who has been vacationing in Cabo for over twenty years, most of our favorite activities have centered around doing fun things with our kids, but there is plenty to do if you don't have children. Let's start with activities for adults (some of which will also interest children) and move on to suggestions that may be more suitable for families.
Due to its beautiful year-round weather, Cabo San Lucas offers many outdoor activities. Of these, the most popular is sport fishing. Since Cabo is located at the place where two oceans merge, it has a marine habitat that is home to some species of fish that are not found anywhere else in the world. Best known for marlin fishing, Cabo attracts skilled anglers and is home to professional captains and crews that will make your deep sea fishing trip the experience of a lifetime. If you like to fish, you'll love the fishing here.

If the Cabo San Lucas activity that you are most looking forward to is golf, Cabo has much to offer. Home to six championship golf courses, you can play golf at a different place almost every day of the week. Although some consider the tee fees a bit expensive, there is nothing quite like playing golf in Cabo with the saguaro cactus dotting the ocean view, the mild tropical breezes, the warm sun on your face and the beautiful vistas of turquoise waters and clear blue skies.
Other outdoor activities center around the ocean: snorkeling, surfing, whale watching, swimming with the dolphins, glass bottom boat rides and dinner cruises.
One romantic activity in Cabo San Lucas to share with your spouse or lover is a sunset horseback ride on the beach. The prices are reasonable, the scenery breathtaking and you'll also get some exercise. Be sure to bring along your camera for some snapshots of the stunning Cabo sunsets.

Plan at least one fun Cabo San Lucas activity that will engage the entire family. For instance, an ATV tour out to the lighthouse (young children can double up with their parents) or sail around the Sea of Cortez on a pirate ship (very exciting for young swashbucklers with runaway imaginations!)
If you want to keep things simple, have a picnic on the beach. If you don't feel like preparing food, many of the Cabo San Lucas hotels and resorts offer food service on the beach. After your meal, you can make art on the beach. For years my boys and I have enjoyed painting ceramic pieces. It's relaxing to sit in the sun or under the shade of an umbrella with a tall drink by your side and paint a festive decoration for your home. Over the years, we've built up quite a collection.
At Club Cascadas (photo above courtesy of Peter Nevard), where we usually stay, the woman who runs the ceramic cart will even trace around the different colors on your piece with a quick, but skilled flourish of her brush. Of course the pieces look a little dull before they've been glazed and fired in the kiln, but the next day when you pick them up, they are bright, shiny and beautiful. Best of all, each piece becomes a memento of your trip and your time spent painting ceramics together.
Recorcholis located in Puerto Paraiso Mall is a fun place to play video games or go bowling and will get your family out of the sun. Photo by Laura Ramirez.
If you want to get out of the sun for while, the local indoor mall, Puerto Paraiso has an arcade called Recorcholis with all of the latest video games, pool, foos ball, snack bar and a bowling center. Young children, teens and even adults will be entertained for hours. This is a hot spot for the local kids as well, so try to go on a week day during school hours. When we vacation in Cabo, we usually take our kids to Recorcholis a couple of times. The boys and their dad play their favorite video games, while I do some shopping in the mall.
If you're a mom who doesn't much care for video games, drop your husband off with the kids and spend a couple hours walking the impressive marble floors of the mall and browsing or shopping in the beautiful galleries and boutiques. Afterwards, you can hook up with the rest of the family for coffee drinks and chocolate milk, ice cream or a meal at any of the fine eateries located at or near Puerto Paraiso.
