Cabo Photos - Photographs of Beautiful Cabo San Lucas

Cabo Photos ...

... a picture is worth a thousand words and also conjures a mix of feelings. As you take in the photographs of Cabo San Lucas on this page, let yourself be captured by the images and heave a huge sigh of relief. This is exactly what you'll do after spending a few days in Cabo with the sun on your face, the tropical breeze in your hair and the sense of relaxation that will permeate your being.

Check out the latest Cabo photos from my family's yearly vacation to the tip of the Baja Peninsula, then follow the links to make plans for your trip or use the convenient trip planner box at the bottom of the page. As long time travelers to Cabo, we've listed the resources and sites we use to plan our trips, whether you're looking for a luxury vacation or you want to travel as inexpensively as possible. If you like to arrive at your vacation spot knowing that you've already paid for it, check out our article on Cabo San Lucas all-inclusive vacations.

Cabo Photos - Baggage Claim at the Airport Once you've gone through Customs, had your passport checked and your tourist card date-stamped, you'll proceed to the baggage claim area. Here, while you are waiting for your bags, you can arrange for a rental car or a bus or taxi to your hotel. There are porters to help you if you have a lot of luggage.

Next you'll go through the baggage check area where there is a traffic stop light. If you press the light and get a green light, you are free to go. If you get red, your luggage will be searched. This year for the first time in twenty years of traveling to Cabo, we got a red light and had to go through a quick luggage search.

Bus transportation from Los Cabos airport Once you're outside the airport, you'll get you first whiff of tropical air. You'll also be approached by a variety of people trying to sell you a ride to your hotel. If you did not rent a car (which we typically do not do), you can pay for a seat on a bus or taxi. The cost is approximately $15 per person which is pretty reasonable when you consider it's about a 30 minute drive to Cabo San Lucas. Generally, the taxis and buses are clean, well-maintained, air-conditioned and the drivers are friendly, heed the speed limit and speak English.

If you pay for a seat on a taxi (in Cabo San Lucas, all the taxis are vans with bench seats), you'll share it with other tourists who are headed in the same direction. Here's a goofy photo of my son Colt and I in our taxi that we took ourselves.

Once all the suitcases have been loaded, you'll embark down Highway 1 toward Cabo San Lucas. Along the road, you'll see some of the sights of San Jose del Cabo (where the airport is located) as well as glimpses of the ocean that widen into vistas, especially as you enter into the Corridor—the long strip of land between the two cities. One of the incredible sights along the way are the tall saguaro cactus that dot the hillsides that sweep down to the turquoise waters of the Sea of Cortez.

This trip, we were actually able to spot some gray whales as we were traveling down the highway at 80 kilometers per hour. Of course we were going too fast to get a snapshot to add to our Gallery of Cabo photos. Cabo photo of bougainvilla Ah, see the bougainvilla on the gate? We've actually arrived at our Cabo San Lucas hotel which is situated on beautiful Medano Beach, the most popular beach in Los Cabos.

Cabo San Lucas cruise

If we walk out to the shore while we're waiting for our room to be readied for our arrival, sometimes we'll see cruise ships anchored in the Cabo San Lucas Bay. In comparison to everything else, these cruise ships look so huge, they almost appear to be an optical illusion. Cabo Glass Bottom Boat at El Arco

Perhaps the most stunning view from from Medano Beach is that The Arch or what is known in spanish as El Arco. It's the natural gateway that opens the Sea of Cortez to the Pacific Ocean. It was formed by the rough waters slapping against the rocks at the tip of the Baja California Sur peninsula over millions of years. Although these Cabo photos show a close-up view (in detail that you wouldn't be able to see from the beach), it is spectacular no matter what your vantage point.

We hope you've enjoyed looking at some of our Cabo photos. If you're getting ready to plan your trip, follow our recommendations below to save time and money.

For booking your flight, we recommend CheapCaribbean.com
