The Incredibly Beautiful Baja California Sur in Mexico

Baja California Sur ...

... is a state in Mexico which is located in the southernmost portion of the Baja peninsula. It is surrounded on one side by the Pacific Ocean and on the other, by the Sea of Cortez.

Baja California Sur

I've placed red dots on the map above to show you the major tourists spots in Baja California Sur

The Baja peninsula is about 800 miles long and stretches from Tijuana to Cabo San Lucas at its southern most tip. It is divided into two states: Baja California (which is just below the U.S. state by the same name) and Baja California Sur. Although in many ways it is still a rugged, unexplored territory (which you'll discover if you drive its length), it is also home to some of the most beautiful vacation spots in Mexico: San Jose del Cabo, Cabo San Lucas, Todos Santos, Buena Vista, La Paz, Loreta, Rosarito, Ensenada and more.

Baja California Sur This finger-like extension of North America is unlike any other geographic region in the world because it is a mix of semi-tropic and arid desert climates. In Cabo, the desert extends right down to the beach—it is one of the few places in the world where you can actually spot towering cacti from the shoreline. Beyond the tropics and the deserts, Baja California has mountains with beautiful pine tree forests.

What's more the rich ecosystem of the land is reflected in the teeming marine life at Land's End, where the Pacific Ocean joins the Sea of Cortez and the nutrient-dense waters are full of marlin, sea lions, dolphins, grey whales (during their migration) and so many varieties of ocean life that the famous oceanographer Jacques Cousteau dubbed this area "The World's Aquarium."

At Land's End is a jewel of a vacation spot, Cabo San Lucas, which is what this site is all about.
